The courtyard was pratically empty which suited Mark fine. He preferred it that way, a lot more peaceful. It wasn't that he didn't like socializing, no, it was just that no one ever really socialized with him but he was OK with that because he muched preferred being alone anyway. His Nan had always told him to just be himself and he was sure that everytime he was alone he was himself but with company, he wasn't so sure he was.
Turning the page of the book in his lap Mark continued to read. He loved to read and study and anything that you did on your own. Mark was really only smart for one reason and that was because he studied so much because he had so much spare time. He would never be off socializing with friends because he didn't have any.

Morgan was making her way across the courtyard carrying a huge pile of books that she'd gotten from the library to read up on different potions as well as wizard art. Suddenly, she tripped on one of the cobblestones that paved the courtyard, so that some of her books fell all over the place. Cursing under her breath, she looked for a place to set down the rest so she could pick up the fallen books. Out of breath and still cursing, she dumped the entire load next to a boy she'd never seen before sitting on one of the benches. Frustrated, she began picking up books... she felt it already, this was going to be a bad day...

The noise of someone tripping and then books flying all over the place made Mark look up from his book to find a girl picking up books that were sprawn all over the place. Mark placed his book down then stood up and started to help the girl by picking up her books with her. When all of the books had been collected he handed his over to her, "There you go, I hope you're OK and those books aren't damaged, I noticed they were library books" Mark didn't know where that had all come from, usually he couldn't even say one word to anyone, oh well.

Morgan only realized the boy on the bench was helping her pick up her books when he handed a pile of them over to her. "Oh, wow, thanks," she said, smiling at him. He had said the things he said in a rush, as if he were nervous - it was funny in a cute way. Morgan dropped the rest of the books onto the bench and sat down herself to catch her breath. "So, what were you doing out here?" she asked, brushing a couple of lose strands of hair out of her face.

Mark pointed to the book beside him on the bench, "I was studying" he said giving the girl a half-smile. He didn't really want to talk, he never did but he wouldn't say it to the girl, he wasn't brave enough to say things like that, it was just rude.

"Oh. right," Morgan said. Not the most talkative sheep in the pen, but then neither was she. Usually, she would've left it at that but there was something about him that intrigued her. "Studying what?" she asked in her trademark dragging, disinterested tone, looking up at him.
